New Iyengar Classes at Shanti Yoga and Ayurveda with Gabrielle Sigal

Please join us for an Iyengar Class with Gabrielle Sigal on Fridays from 10:30-12 (level II) and Sundays 11:30 – 1 PM (level I) Classes begin on November 11th.
Gabrielle is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher who has studied with Senior Iyengar Teacher Joan White since 1996.
“My mission is to inspire, encourage, educate, and to teach by the method set forth by B.K.S Iyengar, as my teacher taught me. To make a difference in someone’s life, no matter how small and ignite a spark that leads to greater compassion, and self understanding.”

Iyengar Yoga is based on the teachings of the yoga master B.K.S. Iyengar, author of the classic yoga treatises “Light on Yoga”and “Light on Life”. The Iyengar family’s teachings are deeply grounded in the yoga sutras of Patanjali, an ancient summation of the path of yoga considered to be at least 2,500 years old. This method of yoga is recognized for its thorough exploration of poses as they relate to the physical, emotional, spiritual, physiological and psychological aspects of each individual student.
 It is a method that is appropriate for anyone – regardless of age, degree of health or other perceived limitations.
The Iyengar method teaches students how to develop strength and flexibility; it gives them an increased ability to focus, observe, and relax; and it encourages understanding and compassion toward oneself and others.
