“AYURVEDIC RETIREMENT COMMUNITY OF YOUR DREAMS” ? “Feed People, Serve People”, Neem Karoli Baba

“Feed People, Serve People”, Neem Karoli Baba

On a beautiful highway, cool wind in my hair Warm smell of eucalyptus, rising up through the air Up ahead in the distance, I saw shimmering light…

Imagine waking up in an environment where you can relax and be nurtured in a stress free retreat-like home, listening to the morning sounds of birds singing, smelling flowers, and enjoying smells of fresh organic breakfast foods cooking? All this while living in a private bungalow designed according to the ancient healing concepts of Vastu, with views of a medicinal herb garden. The architect envisioned this concept, with Shanti Malibu’s founder Larry Mangel, as “a boutique wellness hotel sitting in a huge garden.” It’s where the “Golden Door” meets India in southern California.

Or in an apartment or bungalow available for short term stays? Some are visiting loved ones or enjoying ayurvedic day spa therapies or eating delicious fresh organic ayurvedic influenced meals from the organic farm in the farm to table restaurant. Others are receiving Pancha Karma in the ayurvedic clinic.

Shanti Malibu’s concept of active adult living will make life more comfortable and enjoyable. Modern science has profoundly altered the course of human life. People are living longer than any other time in history but the advances have turned the process of aging into a medical experience for which the medical world is unprepared. Utilize Ayurveda’s concept of rasayana or rejuvenation.

You need to live here! Love exists here! Good health lives here! Connect with your circadian rhythms that are so important to Ayurvedic healing and long term health! Relax in a beautiful private active adult residence that feels like a lovingly designed paradise. An “oasis of peace!” Fresh grown organic food and lots of fresh air. Hmm, should I begin the day with a meditation practice, pranayama or yoga? Or all three? Or take a hike? Or a nice walk on the beautiful tree lined connected walking paths. Maybe today, I’ll enjoy an ayurvedic rejuvenation massage therapy? Feeling stressed have a shirodhara? Browse the medicinal herb gardens, fruit orchards, or walk along the year round creek. And you can always take a day trip to the beach or go for some shopping.

Listen to a lecture or take a cooking class in the teaching kitchen or have a hot pizza from the outdoor pizza oven or take a swim in the beautiful lap pool. Maybe it’s a tennis day or a day to practice your foul shots? Or is today one to relax and read on your private deck.

Need to conduct some business today? Use the office center and conference rooms. Meet friends at the Getty Museum? Or the Broad?

Imagine now there are less maintenance worries. No lawn care, painting, and exterior upkeep. There’s no more mowing, snow blowing or calling a plumber!

When surrounded by your peers in an active adult community, your neighbors will be your peers – people that you can relate to and share your story. You’re all at similar stages in life with similar interests and lots to teach each other.

Ayurveda’s mantra is “Food is medicine and medicine is food”. Society at large has yet to recognize foods role as a potent drug in and of itself. Like any drug, food has the power to either heal or harm. Living with an organic farm will provide a clean and ongoing source of nutrition, gently informed by Ayurvedic eating principles to encourage better balance resulting in better health.

The project will be managed by Larry Mangel a NAMA Board Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner, Vedic Counselor, Yoga Teacher, Cerealart Project’s product developer and art publisher, along with an experienced senior care health professional LVN who has more than 10 years experience working in diverse healthcare environments, and independent living communities. She also worked in urgent care and hospital settings.

Additionally. Shanti Malibu has organized an experienced staff and an advisory board which includes Dr. Ramkumar Kutty, the founder of Vaidygrama, the Ayurvedic center in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, IN, Vedic author and scholar Dr. David Frawley, and Ayurvedic physician and educator in Long Beach, Dr. Jayagopal Parla.

As we progress, we are looking for input from people like you to help us build the best community possible. We’d love your input! Please take our survey. It will only take 5 minutes (see link below).
